A Cost Effective Option for Ecommerce

After looking around at several options, we needed an Ecommerce platform that was flexible, PCI Compliant, SEO-friendly, would ideally integrate into our favorite CMS and be affordable for our clients all at the same time. This lead us to use Foxy Cart. Foxy Cart is a robust Ecommerce platform that is highly customizable and integrates into MODx like a glove. For only $15/month, we have been setting our clients up on this system for over 2 years now.

Sets Up Quickly

Traditionally most Ecommerce platforms take time to setup, customize and ensure that all the security elements checkout (i.e. SSL Certificates) and that time means more money the client has to pay. This is where Foxy Cart really shines. Essentially Foxy Cart is an Ecommerce system that requires we drop in some code into your web page and specify parameters like pricing, weight, product code, etc. and we're ready to go. The check out page is fairly easy to customize so that it looks identical to the rest of your website. As mentioned above, it is a secure system.

I Want Control Over my Products and Website

Don't want to have to pay to have changes made to your site or make changes to your products? We understand. While we'd like the opportunity to maintain your website (and we do this for many clients), some clients want the ability to control their site and their products themselves. This is where MODx and Foxy Cart work great together. MODx is our CMS of choice and combined with Foxy Cart, our clients are able to have full control over their website and products.

Yeh, but what about the monthly fee?

Sometimes clients initially ask about the $15/month fee to use Foxy Cart. Our response is simple: for $15/month, Foxy Cart host your checkout page on their SSL Cert and they handle all the patches, updates and monitor your information 24/7. Now imagine using an open source or Ecommerce platform you must purchase. Inevitably your system will require updates and security fixes which are inevitable as security requirements constantly change. Now imagine an even worse scenario: your database with all your client's Credit Card information gets hacked because your Ecommerce software wasn't up to date. Where does that leave you? Not a good place.

So about the monthly fee...while it's only $15/month, you have the advantage of having your Ecommerce system constantly updated and monitored which will save you quite a lot of money. This is hard to beat using the traditional maintenance of bringing in someone to constantly maintain your software.
